Born in Phoenix,
Built on Fresh Food
We started with a simple belief: that great food should be made from real ingredients, served with care, and enjoyed by everyone. That belief is still at the heart of everything we do at Cafe Rio.
A Kitchen Table Idea That Became a Community Table
Cafe Rio was founded in 2008 by Marco and Elena Rios, two passionate home cooks who believed Phoenix deserved a neighborhood restaurant that felt personal. They started by serving friends and family from a small kitchen on Happy Valley Road, using recipes passed down through generations.
Word spread fast. By 2010, the small kitchen grew into a full dining room. Today, Cafe Rio serves hundreds of guests daily, but our commitment to hand-crafted food and warm hospitality has never changed. Every dish on our menu reflects the same love and intention that Marco and Elena poured into that first meal.
